Bread is one of my favorite foods. Cheese is one of my favorite foods. When you put them together, you’ve got a winning formula! To fully appreciate the cheesy richness of these Garlic Cheese Rolls, serve them warm and fresh from the oven.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 55 minutes
Total Time: 1 Hour 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp SAF instant yeast
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 cup of warm water at approximately 115 F
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 8 oz. garlic cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
Instructions:
- Allow the yeast to remain in the warm water for a few minutes. You can add the sugar, garlic powder, melted butter, oil, and salt as the yeast begins to bubble. Mix everything together, then gradually add the flour, either with a dough hook in your stand mixer or by hand. Knead for 10 minutes, then place in an oiled dish with a delicate cloth to cover.
- Allow the dough to rise for 30 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Using parchment paper, line an insulated baking sheet.
- Cut the dough into 18 pieces that are equal in size. Place a 3/4-inch chunk of cheese in each one and press all of the sides together securely. On the baking sheet, place the pinched side down. Place small pieces of the remaining cheese on top of the buns.
- Bake for 11-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the bread is golden brown. Serve warm, brushed with melted butter.
