Sweet Restaurant Slaw


The cole slaw at well-known fried chicken or fish restaurants tastes exactly like this. It goes great with burgers and is also fantastic on sandwiches with barbecued pork.

  • 1 bag coleslaw mix (16 ounces)
  • 2 tbsp diced onion
  • ⅔ cup creamy salad dressing
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp poppy seeds



  1. In a big bowl, mix the coleslaw mix and onion.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the poppy seeds, vegetable oil, sugar, vinegar, salt, and salad dressing; completely combine. Pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix, then toss to combine. At least two hours should pass before serving.
