Maple Soy Salmon

Maple soy salmon is infused with full-bodied soy sauce and sweet maple syrup, resulting in a sticky sweet, and salty flavor combination that works so well together.

Prep Time: 35minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 55 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs center-cut salmon cut into 4 filets
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

Marinade:

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 Tbsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • green onion sliced for garnish, optional

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine the marinade ingredients in a baking dish and set aside.
  3. Place the salmon filets, skin side up, in the marinade and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. In an oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  5. Remove the fish from the marinade and place it skin side up in a skillet to sear for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. In the meantime, remove the marinade from the pan to a saucepan and set it aside, rather than discarding it.
  7. Turn the fish over so the skin side is down. Coat the fillets with the marinade.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the skillet, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes.
  9. In the meantime, bring the marinade to a gentle boil in a skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring periodically, until the marinade thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  10. Take the fish out of the oven and brush it with the sauce. Green onions or parsley can be used as a garnish.
