Jalapeño Cheddar Turkey Burger

These jalapeno cheddar turkey burgers are amazing because they are juicy and tasty. Don’t be alarmed by the jalapenos. They greatly enhance flavor.

The flavor is fantastic. They may be made quickly and simply. And every time they miraculously appear at dinner, my entire family gives them nothing but positive feedback.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 22 minutes

Ingredients:

Burgers:

  • 2 pounds of ground turkey
  • ½ cup onion
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1 medium jalapeño seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika, sweet or smoked
  • Juice of 1/2 lime,
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

For Serving:

  • 6 soft hamburger buns
  • Guacamole
  • Sliced cheddar or Monterey Jack
  • Tomatoes
  • Lettuce

Instructions:

  1. A charcoal, gas, or pellet grill should be heated to medium-high. Oil the grates if necessary to prevent the burgers from sticking.
  2. All the burger ingredients should be thoroughly mixed in a large basin.
  3. Depending on the size you want them to be and/or the size of the buns you’ll be serving them on, you can make more or fewer than six patties out of the meat mixture.
  4. The turkey burgers should be cooked through and an instant-read thermometer put in the thickest portion of the burger should read 165 degrees F after 5 to 6 minutes on each side of the grill.
  5. Before serving, remove from the grill, cover with foil, and allow to rest for three to five minutes. Serve with guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese slices, and other toppings on buns.
