Old Fashioned Custard Pie

This quick and incredibly creamy Old Fashioned Custard Pie, which takes less than an hour to prepare and uses ingredients you probably already have in your cupboard and refrigerator, will please family, friends, and, most importantly, granny.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked pie shell
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 2-2/3 cups milk
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

 

Instructions:

  1. Oven to 350 degrees before using.
  2. Beat the eggs just a little in a medium-sized basin with a hand mixer or whisk. Mix well after adding the milk, vanilla, nutmeg, sugar, and salt (mixture will be somewhat thin)
  3. Pour mixture carefully into a raw pie shell, then bake for 35–40 minutes.
  4. Take the food out of the oven and let it cool to room temperature.
  5. Slice and serve the pie after it has completely cooled down by nutmegging the top.
