Maple soy salmon is infused with full-bodied soy sauce and sweet maple syrup, resulting in a sticky sweet, and salty flavor combination that works so well together.
Prep Time: 35minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 55 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs center-cut salmon cut into 4 filets
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
Marinade:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 Tbsp garlic salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- green onion sliced for garnish, optional
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine the marinade ingredients in a baking dish and set aside.
- Place the salmon filets, skin side up, in the marinade and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In an oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- Remove the fish from the marinade and place it skin side up in a skillet to sear for about 2-3 minutes.
- In the meantime, remove the marinade from the pan to a saucepan and set it aside, rather than discarding it.
- Turn the fish over so the skin side is down. Coat the fillets with the marinade.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the skillet, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes.
- In the meantime, bring the marinade to a gentle boil in a skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring periodically, until the marinade thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
- Take the fish out of the oven and brush it with the sauce. Green onions or parsley can be used as a garnish.
