Total Time: 1 Hour 20 minutes
Ingredients:
Brown Sugar/Cinnamon Mixture:
- â…“ cup light brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Bread Loaf:
- ½ cup butter softened
- â…” cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs room temp
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ¾ tsp baking powder
- ½ cup milk or almond milk
Chopped Apple Mixture:
- 2 large apples
Old-Fashioned Creme Glaze:
- ½ cup of powdered sugar
- 1-3 tbsp of milk or cream
Instructions:
- turn the oven on to 350 degrees. Use a loaf pan and non-stick spray to make it easy to remove for slicing, or line a baking sheet with foil and coat it as well.
- In a bowl, combine 13 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Place aside.
- In a separate dish, mix and whisk together 1 1/2 cups flour and 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder.
- Using an electric mixer, combine 2/3 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup softened butter in another medium dish and beat until smooth and creamy.
- 2 eggs should be added one at a time and mixed in thoroughly. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla essence and combine.
- Mix until combined after adding the flour mixture to the butter creamed mixture.
- Blend the batter after adding a half cup of milk.
- Pour half the batter into the loaf pan that has been lined with parchment paper. Add half the chopped apple mixture, along with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and combine.
- On top of the apple layer, sprinkle 12 of the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture that you had set aside.
- Layer two: Spread the remaining batter over the apple layer, sprinkle the remaining chopped apples with cinnamon and sugar, and then top with the remaining brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.
- Swirl the mixture with a knife several times.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean.
- To prepare glaze, thoroughly combine 12 cup powdered sugar with 1–3 tablespoons milk or cream. (If the mixture needs a boost, microwave it for 10 seconds to make it pourable.)
- Before transferring the loaf to cool entirely on a cooling rack, let it rest in the pan for about 15 minutes. Glaze in a thin layer.
- Make two batches of the glaze if you need more.
