My favorite pie is this strawberry one, and it’s incredibly simple to make. The Sussex County Strawberry Farm in North Jersey gave me the recipe many years ago.
The simplest fresh strawberry pie features crust covered in a creamy glaze, fresh strawberries that are produced from scratch, and strawberries. A spoonful of whipped cream on top completes the dessert for a pleasant meal.

Ingredients:
- 1 quart of fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 pie crust, baked
- 1 cup white sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- ¾ cup water
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions:
- In the prepared pastry shell, distribute half of the strawberries. Remaining strawberries should be added to a medium pot.
- Strawberries in a pot with sugar added; over medium heat, bring to a boil while stirring continuously.
- In a small bowl, stir cornstarch and water together. Stir the cornstarch mixture gradually into the boiling strawberry sauce. Stirring continuously, lower the heat, and simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes or until it thickens.
- Over the berries in the pastry casing, pour the cooked strawberry mixture. For at least three hours, refrigerate until cooled and set.
- Cream should be whipped in a medium basin until soft peaks form before serving. Each pie slice should be served with whipped cream on top.
